Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Institute is located at 505 Hanoi Boulevard, An Phu Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. It was established by Monk Thich Giac Nhien of the Older Monk Alms Sect in 1968. In the past 50 decades or more, it has been headed by three abbots: Monk Giac Phuc (1968 - 1985), Monk Giac Huyen (1985 - 1990), and Monk Giac Lai (1990 - 2014). Starting from December 2014, it has been under the management of Monk Thich Giac Toan, the present abbot of the institute. The Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Institute is located at the gateway at the east of Ho Chi Minh City, with the area of 37.490 square meters. With the history of about a thousand years, the institute is the cultural legacy of the Vietnamese. It worships the Three Treasures of Buddhism. The building of the institute is a fusion of the essence of eastern and western architecture, mingling the east and west, ancient and modern culture.

Mercy, the foundation. Happiness, the goal:

In December 2014, Monk Thich Giac Toan was appointed the abbot of the institute. Being a great Buddhism scholar, he dedicates his life to the study of Buddhist dharma and serving sentient beings. He was ordained at the age of 14, with about 56 years of study, Buddhist practice and lecture on dharma. He has made significant contributions to the peace of peoples and the wellbeing of sentient beings.
Since 2002, Monk Thich Giac Toan implemented the refurbishment of the Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Institute on behalf of the Khmer Buddhist sect. In 2009, witnessed by Monk Thich Giac Nhien of the Older Monks Alms sect, he was responsible for the execution, commencement of construction and construction management works. It has been more than a decade until now. Overlooking Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Institute from the main Hanoi Boulevard (north-south line), it is solemn, grand and magnificent. 1F is the lecture hall. 2F is the Zen hall. 3F is the main hall (Mahavira Hall). There are four pagodas surrounding the building, representing the Four Heavenly Kings attending the Buddha.
The Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Institute is a representative spiritual dharma hall of the Khmer Buddhist sect. Being a member of the Vietnam Buddhist sect, it is the spiritual refuge of peoples in the world, protecting and blessing the people for generations.

On the 5F and 6F of the Tu An Tower, it is a place of tranquility, closer to the world of ultimate bliss.

Design of the tower:the world of ultimate bliss is immersed in Buddha light is vivid in color. At the center, it is the Kṣitigarbha. On each wall, the sculpture of Amitabha Buddha is situated. It is an ideal place for ancestors to get close to the Buddha, practice Buddhism and reside in tranquility.

Tower’s Look:made with aluminum, it is surrounded by a mirror plate design with the etching of Buddha’s lotus to highlight His mercy. At the back, quotes from Sutras are carved to allow worshippers return to their ancestors and embrace the Buddha.
